How do I enter my Home Buyers’ Plan repayment information in TurboTax?

Before you begin

Enter your RRSP contributions in TurboTax (if you haven’t already).

Instructions for entering your Home Buyers’ Plan repayment information

  1. Select the image of the magnifying glass (or Find) in the upper-right area of TurboTax.
  2. Enter “home buyers” in the Find window.
  3. Select Home Buyers Plan from the list of results, then select Go.
  4. The Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) Profile step appears.

  5. Select Designate an amount as a Home Buyers’ Plan repayment, then select Continue.
  6. The Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) step appears.

  7. Follow the on-screen instructions, then select Continue.

If you are using the TurboTax online edition, you have successfully entered your Home Buyers’ Plan repayment information. To see a summary, select Continue until you reach the Here’s your RRSP/PRPP summary step.

If you are using the TurboTax CD/download edition, the Details of the Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) Repayment step appears. Follow the instructions below.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions, then select Continue.
  • You have successfully entered your Home Buyers’ Plan repayment information. To see a summary, continue until you reach the Here’s your RRSP/PRPP summary step.
