Payment...

Each year I file the same way, using the Standard version that sells for $19.99 minus the discount.

This year i started my return with the FREE version.
Soon after I started it told me I would need to upgrade.

But it didn't offer the Standard version that I have used for more than 10 years.

It only offered me the Premier version!

 

How do I get it to offer me the Standard version?

How do I make sure when my return is ready to file it will apply the discount

offered at my bank?

Holy crap it just keeps getting worse and worse!

 

I started a new return.

Now it's saying I need to Upgrade to Turbo Tax Self-Employed $35.99 !!!

I thought 27.99 was bad enough!

 

I AM NOT SELF-EMPLOYED !!!!!

My tax situation hasn't changed in 10 years!

 

What has happened to your company?

I looks like the system is set up to make you get a more expensive package. I called and  they told me that they cannot do anything to help. The only solution is to restart your taxes or pay for a package that you did not chose. Under these circunstances, I would not use Turbotax again.

I tried starting a new return.

When I get to a certain page Turbo Tax starts peskering me to Upgrade to Deluxe,

saying I need it to continue.

In past year I have always been offered to use Deluxe when I was completing my

return, BUT it allowed me to continue, and I finished my filing without the need

for Deluxe.

 

This time it is not giving me a choice to continue.

Is this finally the end of the line with Turbo Tax and me as a customer for more than 10 years?

NOTHING has changed in my filing this year compared to previous years.

I repeat NOTHING has changed.

There have been changes made to TurboTax Online for 2021. 

 

For 2021, there is no Standard version of TurboTax Online. Instead, we have Deluxe. You can read more about on this TurboTax FAQ: What happened to the Standard edition of TurboTax Online?

Thanks for trying to help out.

I read the note explaining that Standard has now turned into Deluxe.

 

That still doesn't explain why I can't file unless I upgrade to Premium.

For more than 10 years I could file with Standard (now Deluxe)

and nothing has changed in my financial circumstances.

 

Now Turbo says I must upgrade in order to file!

Turbo Tax is showing that for my last year's return (April 23, 2021)
I used Turbo Tax Deluxe to file.

 

I know I paid 19.99 or less.
Has the price increased $7 since last year?
