Understood there's no way to see specially what data was transferred from the prior year's return vs what was entered or imported. I do know you can see what data was imported and I agree it would be a good idea to be able to see that too.
Your process looks good to confirm that the data is being brought over from the prior return now, so I see no reason to replicate that. While it remains a mystery why it did not happen the first time, I have the data there now and am ready to move on and file my taxes.
