@Lindsay10

As far as I know (assuming 2024 is the "current" year; actually numbering the years instead of current and previous would have been helpful) any amounts paid in 2024 for all years are included on your T4 Box 14.

T1198 is simply a request to CRA to have this lump payment spread out over the years involved to see if a refund may be due...

March 26th...

I still don't see any place to fill out form T1198 in the EasyStep mode.

I called TurboTax support and was able to manually find and fill it out using the Forms button. All fields worked fine and no errors.

I have some time now before the filing deadline. I might wait to see if it gets added back to EasyStep to see if everything looks good and if my refund gets re-calculated at the top left..

Can we expect an update anytime soon TurboTax??

I did as you said, filled out everything in Easysteps then form t1198 in "forms."  Now it won't allow me to Netfile.  What gives?

"and if my refund gets re-calculated at the top left..

It will not do this... not how it works... If filling in the T1198 results in your refund being re-calculated something is really wrong. CRA will inform you later if any additonal $$$ is due to you.

Getting started

@Lindsay10 If you have already Netfiled, then you will have to amend/refile your return.

Have you used the TurboTax online version or the TurboTax desktop version? You can make changes to a filed tax return by filing a T1-adjustment. The CRA requires that you wait until you’ve received your Notice of Assessment (NOA) before filing an adjustment.  In many cases, the CRA will catch the mismatch and automatically adjust your return for you.

For step-by-step instructions, please follow this TurboTax article:  I've filed my tax return. Can I still make changes?

It looks like the T1198 has been added to the EasyStep method!

I will work my way through and see how it goes...
