Can I claim books expenses if I study in Quebec? If so, how can I claim them in TurboTax?

Quebec states that "the cost of any books included in fees paid for a correspondence course or for distance education" can be claim as part of the Tuition and Related fees. As part of the course, I paid over 600 dollars in books mandatory for the courses. I need to find a way to claim these expenses in TurboTax, how do I do it?

Seniors and students

Hello,

The federal textbook tax credit was eliminated in 2017. Go to the Federal income tax and benefit information to see if you are eligible to claim a provincial or territorial textbook amount.

Unused textbook amounts from years prior to 2017 can be carried forward.

As a student, you might be able to claim a variety of credits and expenses on your tax return. We've compiled a list of common credits, expenses, and exemptions for you to reference here:
