As per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA):

      "The CRA's goal is to send you a notice of assessment, as well as any refund, within the following timelines:

• online - 2 weeks
• paper return - 8 weeks
• non-resident returns - 16 weeks

      These timelines apply only to returns that are received on or before the due date.

      The CRA may take longer to process your return if it is selected for a more detailed review."

The current status of your tax return can be found through your CRA My Account. 

If it is your first time filing a tax return, you would have received a NetFile confirmation number. For detailed information and confirmation, you may contact the CRA at 1-800-959-8281.

As per the Revenu Quebec:

      "You should receive any refund to which you are entitled:

• within 14 working days if you file your tax return online
• within four to six weeks if you file your tax return by mail"

To see the status of your income tax return, you can use:

• the online service in My Account for individuals for viewing income tax return information for the current year;
• the Refund Info-Line This link will open a new tab (you must provide the amount entered on line 199 of your income tax return for the current year or your clicSÉQUR user code and password);
• automated telephone service available at:
