Can I claim wages lost during an illness?

I was diagnosed with Cancer and required several surgeries over the past two years. Is there a way I can claim lost wages during this time? I did not go on EI during any of these recovery times which averaged between 3-8 weeks after each surgery

Unfortunately, lost wages are not claimable on your taxes. You may be able to claim a higher amount of medical expenses during that time. Any claims from 2022 will need to be adjusted on that return.

As per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) you may be able to claim Travel expenses.

You may also be able to apply for the Disability Tax Credit.
