This FAQ applies to the TurboTax Business Incorporated edition.
TurboTax Incorporated Businesses lets you transfer your GIFI data from a QuickBooks company file (version 6.0 or later) to a TurboTax Business Incorporated file.
The import process is a one-time data transfer between the QuickBooks and TurboTax Business Incorporated files. If you make changes to your original QuickBooks file, you can use this feature again to re-import the data. Note that each import will clear the GIFI forms of all entries before transferring new amounts.
Import GIFI data from QuickBooks
- Launch QuickBooks and open the file for the company whose GIFI data you would like to transfer to TurboTax Business Incorporated.
- Open a file in TurboTax Business Incorporated, and select File > Import from QuickBooks.
- Set your options on the first TaxLink dialog and click Continue.
- On the All Accounts tab of the second TaxLink dialog box, click Help for a detailed description of all the import options. The TurboTax Business Incorporated import process functions as documented for TurboTax.
The new authorization code stays permanently associated with that particular TurboTax Business Incorporated return. That means you can print additional copies of the return anytime.
Important: Before purchasing your print authorization code, please confirm that the business number, legal name of the corporation and the year-end are correct.
