Can I claim a deduction for personal storage rent

The rent for my personal storage is over $4,000

Yes, you can if the storage costs are to be claimed as moving expenses. However, you should check your eligibility for this to see if you qualify: 

  • Transportation and storage costs: This applies to household items and even includes boats and trailers, and covers packing, hauling, movers, in-transit storage, and insurance.
