How do I find out if either my husband or myself have amounts held over from other years that we could use now to reduce our taxes owed for this year?

If you use TurboTax to file tax last year, you can choose to transfer data from last year's return. This will automatically transfer the amounts carried forward from last year for you. You can also view your carryover amounts in your My Service Canada Account.
