Activated 3/3 Computers.

I recently rebuild my computer which had a 2nd licence. This took up my 3rd licence. Then I had to reload windows11 when a power outage caused a win11 to become corrupted.

now when I reload turbotax 2004 I get a message that all my activation counts have been used.
how can I reset the number of activations to reflect the number of computers I actually have turbotax installed on (2)?

It sounds like you've had a frustrating run of hardware updates and power outages.

TurboTax 2004 allows a maximum of three installations. Because the system treats each hardware rebuild or OS reload as a "new" machine, your activation count has reached its limit.

Because this software is more than 20 years old, we no longer have the infrastructure or database tools to generate new Installation Key Codes (IKC) or manually reset activation counts for the 2004 release.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Hi. Sorry I had a typo when I said the version was 2004. It’s 2024 premier. Hopefully I can get a new activation code.

Could you clarify if this is a retail product? I couldn’t find any orders linked to your email.

Yes, it’s retail. I bought it in March 2025

Please contact our phone support team for further assistance regarding this matter. They will be able to help you directly.

They will require proof of purchase since it is a retail purchase and we have no record of this purchase.
