Error code TT808 loading software

How do I fix error code TT808 unable to determine if an update is available? I have been trying to use my 2024 premium edition desktop version but keep getting this same error message.  This was working fine a couple of weeks ago.

Same problem. Contacted support. Waiting on a call that they tried to charge me for. Walked away from computer & instead of a call they had set me up with another chatbot. Then sent me a survey. Of course you have to sign up for $90/mth to get support on the product I had for 4 days. Apparently some guy will call. I’ll update this if he calls & I get it resolved.

Please try reinstalling the software. It will not delete any of your existing returns.

I can re-install, but FYI my prior 2 packages (2023 and 2022) are having the same problem.  I tried going into them to see if I could isolate the problem,  so I am concerned that this will not resolve the problem.  

 

I also temporarily halted my anti-virus software and that didn't resolve the problem.

I used the tool.  It says it successfully fixied that year (2024) and the prior years.

 

I am still getting the error.  It is stopping at the 'Checking server for latest update screen'.  The screen shows twice.  The second time, it pops up the error.

Same problem TT808 error code when loading. Worked fine a week ago. There was a link to a fix it tool, but didn't work for my desktop version for 2024 tax year. When loading, get screen to check for updates. Clicked on the link but get a page saying no longer available, etc. Get the TurboTax blue screen when loading...jut hangs there.   What, what, what....please help! Got it to work...the fix it tool must have kicked in! TurboTax basic for Windows 11. Version 00.01.85. Build 8011 068G50. Hope it keeps going! Thanks.

Thank you.  I did contact support.  TThe problem has already been reported and it is being worked on.  

 

They will followup, once the problem has been resolved.

Yes, the fix it link seemed to make it work now. The program loads really slow but loads up. May still get error message but just ignored it…it still loaded.

I received a followup email.  The problem is still being worked on and estimate it should be fixed by late Monday evening.

Thanks. Once you are in, can you efile?  Coz I was able to push past before but got errors.

@user17610950095 TurboTax doesn't use e-file, so no. But you can try to NETFILE, if you are eligible. If you get a NETFILE error, this TurboTax Canada FAQ might help: What does my NETFILE error code mean and how do I fix it?

I was able to open up the package today.  The update was successfully completed. 

 

I was able to file a return.
