FHSA and TurboTax Canada Schedule 15, line 6

Hello,

I'm using TurboTax Desktop Standard.

I opened FHSA and made contribution of $2k in 2023.

T4FHSA has Box 18 (Contributions) populated, and Box32, 34 are empty.

Schedule 15, line 6, 8, 10 are calculated fields, but should allow for manual input of an amount LESS that the $8k.

Has anyone come across this? I'm not sure how to proceed with this.

@nightowl2

Lines 6 & 13 are pre-filled as per the actual CRA Schedule 15 form. As the FHSA just started in 2023, those numbers will be the same for everyone.

Line 8 is calculated - Line 6 minus Line 7, so if Boxes 32 & 34 on your T4FHSA are zero, then Line 8 will equal line 6 ($8000).

Line 10 is also calculated - Line 8 plus line 9, so if Box 36 on your T4FHSA is zero, then Line 10 will equal line 8.

You can override line 20 and still NETFILE. If you go through EasyStep Mode, it will do the override for you.

@TurboTaxSusan, yes, Line 20 appears to be editable, but Lines 6 states "Total transfers made from your RRSPs to your FHSAs in 2023 (boxes 32 and 34 of your 2023 T4FHSA slips)", which for me is 0, but it appears to be a calculated field, and is auto-set to 8,000, so are Line 8 and Line 10.

@nightowl2 Did you enter a T4FHSA slip?

@TurboTaxSusan, yes. Boxes 32, 34, 36 are 0, but the Lines 6, 8 and 10 on Schedule 15 appears to be automatically calculated to 8,000.

@TurboTaxSusan, that explains it.

Thank you very much for your time and patience!
