I fixed this by re-installing over the existing TT2016. I read another post where they uninstalled and re-installed and it fixed this error, so I tried to do the same thing. However, TurboTax 2016 was not listed as installed!! I had installed from CD, so I just installed it again. It complained about a MS runtime library 2015 not being installed, so I told it to install it. It failed and gave me the option to continue without it, so I did. The install of TT2016 completed successfully, and asked if I wanted to launch it. I did, and it picked up where I had left off in completing my return, without any of those annoying Line 4 Char 2 errors. I have now successfully downloaded my T forms from CRA, and can carry on. TT2016 is also now listed as an installed program in the Windows Programs control panel.
Hope this helps you.

Thanks, will try to do that, though I don't have the CD, hopefully I can download again. Thanks
I am installing 2017 via CD and have experienced the Script Error message Line 4 Char 2 Code 0 URL:res//c:\program files (0x86)\ turbotax 2017/automation. I tried uninstalling 3X and restarting my computer between installs before i decided to uninstall and download from the TT website. I am now back on track but yes...this was time consuming and frustrating. This is the first time i have ever encountered an issue with TT but i see most people had this issue in 2016 so I am surprised it has not been resolved for the 2017 product line. As this has been my first real problem installing for over 15 years, i will continue with the product.
