My refund from CRA is significantly less than from TurboTax ($46.22 vs $825.22). What caused this?

This wasn't an issue if it weren't for the fact that this year, I had to file taxes with my wife separately and I had to pay $654.77 for my wife's tax return. We just have a T4 and T5s, no special situations, and this just doesn't make sense to me.

  1. Make sure to contact us within 30 days of your penalty assessment if you believe a TurboTax calculation error has occurred.
  2. Ensure your software is registered (CD/Download only).
  3. Contact TurboTax Support: Please call us by visiting the contact us pagehttps://support.turbotax.intuit.ca/contact/
  4.  Complete the required information. A phone number will appear, along with your incident ID. Call the number. A qualified agent will process your claim.

Please have the following documents and information available:

  • Your name, address, and daytime phone number
  • A copy of your refund or tax due amount using TurboTax and your refund or tax due amount using another tax preparation method
  • Copy/Scan of your TurboTax store sales receipt or shipment packing slip
  • Copy/Scan of your proof of payment for another tax preparation method (if applicable)
  • Copy/Scan of the tax return prepared with TurboTax
  • Copy/Scan of the tax return prepared with another tax preparation method

Please keep copies of the documents sent us for your records. When processing your claim request, we may need a copy of your TurboTax data file.

It may take up to eight weeks to process request and deliver your cheque. If after eight weeks you have not received your cheque, please call us by clicking the following link to the Contact Us page. Then complete the required information. A phone number will appear, along with your incident ID. Call the number. This will ensure that an appropriate agent is assigned to your query:
