I am receiving the same error. when I called I was told "The T1198 form is still locked because a final decision has not been made by CRA for Capital Gains". They did not seem to understand that the two have no relation.
Same issue over here. It is very frustrating. I'm not even sure that it is worth while filing the T1198. I was hoping to complete my taxes this week but it's looking like it is not possible. If I had Wealthsimple I'd be done.
Me as well. Software issue and they are claiming they do not know if or when they will fix it. I say to anyone that needs a T1198 form to use another software than them. Other ones will work. Just take your business somewhere else. Thanks goodness there are more reliable options
The made me pay before I was told I couldn't file. If I hadn't paid already I would have done my taxes elsewhere. DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE. SO MAD.
T1198 form is still locked by CRA and not finalized by CRA yet. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?
We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax for an accurate calculations.
We appreciate your patience.
This is not a true response. Wealth Simple, you can do your taxes with the form it gets uploaded to NetFile with the T1198 and it is accepted. I got tired of waiting for TURBO to fix their software and blaming the CRA (which is silly as it is a bug with their software) and had no problems somewhere else. I also did a tax return before the second one on Turbo tax and it uploaded no problem with the T1198. Then the second one no go. Explain that on the CRA. Both have NOA completed.
You might want to look into it before people leave TurboTax over false replies.
Also, if you read the problem above the form, it is not locked at all, your spreadsheet for the T1198 is not adding up. It is a code file error that one cell is not reading the other one properly. Again a Turbo Tax error.
@ploder Thanks for feedback. We will pass this on to the assigned department.

@TurboTaxAniqua If you're going to keep pasting the same canned response and link could you at least update the page to show the form is "unavailable" or "locked" or whatever excuse is being put out instead of a solution??
We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working for a resolution. We appreciate your patience.
The forms are now available but at least for Qc, when selling a principal residence something is going very wrong. The info is entered once, copied by turbotax from the federal to the provincial return, then the turbotax software is somehow calculating different capital gains for the federal and Qc returns. That then generates an error which prevents submission of the provincial tax return. This is pretty stupid and frustrating as there isn't any capital gain to pay on the sale of a principal residence, just the sale needs to be reported.

Given this error message: Roderick: On form T1198, the sum of all fields in the Breakdown of Principal section must equal line 68519. Additionally, line 68519 can’t be greater than the sum of lines 10100, 10400, 12799, 12800, and 13000 on your T1 general. Review your entries.
Nothing to review. What do I do?
@Rod46 Please make sure that box 68519 is filled out, and that you've entered your amounts for whatever years you got them for.
I fill in 68518 and 68519 and Total principal autofill in.
I then entered in the years relevant.
I still get the error message.
Turbotax seems to be doing something in the background that it does not like.
I cannot submit my return with an error. Seems silly to pay for Turbotax and not be able to submit.
Hoping you will help.
@Rod46 We suggest you contact our Product support team so they can look into this for you.
