Why should I add a phone number to my Intuit account?

TurboTax takes your privacy and security very seriously. When you add a phone number to your account, it provides another level of security to your data. It's recommended for the following reasons:

• Your phone number is used to help keep your account safe. Whenever there's a suspicious sign in, your phone number will be used to prove your identity. Not having a phone number may make your account more vulnerable.
• With a phone number added, you're then able to turn on 2-step verification, which adds a layer of protection to your account.

Note: Intuit only uses your phone number for security purposes and never shares it with other parties without your consent.
