How do I change my TurboTax Online password?
If you've forgotten or need to change your password in TurboTax Online, follow these instructions:
TurboTax Online
Go to TurboTax.
Sign in with your user ID and password.
Select Continue next to any return.
Select Account settings from the menu.
On the Hello! screen, select Sign in & security.
Select Password.
On the Update your password screen, enter your new password and then confirm it.
Select Save.
TurboTax Desktop
Note: Only TurboTax Desktop is available for tax years 2018 to 2021.
Select a tax year and the software you wish to download.
Follow the prompts for installing the software.
Once in TurboTax, select Continue next to any return.
Select File from the TurboTax menu.
Select Set Password... from the dropdown menu.
In the TurboTax File Password popup, enter the new password and then confirm it.
