Error "married or common law" status added automatically unable to be removed

An error where "married or common law" status was added to my tax return (despite me reporting as single) appeared on my tax return on review, and now does not allow me to remove it or proceed without completing the information. Is there a way to fix this without restarting a new return?

Did you import your return information from the previous year? This year, has your marital status changed? This information cannot be changed once you have certified the return. The only way to fix this is to begin a fresh return with no imports.
