Thanks for your question. If you've filed your return but haven't received a Notice of Assessment (NOA) or refund, there are a few steps you can take to try and remedy this.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

When you’ve successfully transmitted your tax return to the CRA through NETFILE, you receive a NETFILE confirmation number. Here’s how to find your NETFILE confirmation number.

You can also confirm if your tax return was received by the CRA in your CRA My Account, but it can take up to 48 hours after you file for your My Account to reflect that your return was received.

If you don’t see a NETFILE confirmation number after 48 hours, you haven’t filed your return through NETFILE.

In this case, see our FAQ for submitting your tax return to CRA using NETFILE:

For more information please check: If your return was filed using NETFILE and received by the CRA?

As per CRA: How you file affects when you get your refund

The Canada Revenue Agency's goal is to send your refund within:

  • 2 weeks, when you file online
  • 8 weeks when you file a paper return

These timelines are only valid for returns we received on or before their due dates.

Returns may take up to 16 weeks if you live outside Canada and file a non-resident personal income tax return.

The CRA may take longer to process your return if we select it for a more detailed review. See Review of your tax return by CRA for more information.

If you use direct deposit, you could get your refund faster.

Set up direct deposit.
