I dont have a spouse, how can i bypass entering a spouse's information

If you started a tax return and said you were "Married" or "Living Common-Law" when you do not have a spouse, you will not be able to move forward in this particular return.

You'll need to get out of that tax return and start a new one in TurboTax. Be sure you do not choose to prepare a return with your spouse, and do not choose your Marital Status to include a spouse if you do not have one.

Here is how you can get to the marital status and change it in the return:

1. Click on My Info on the left-hand side menu.

2. Click on Marital Status.

3. Select "Single" as your marital status and press Continue.

When you first log in to TurboTax, it will ask you a few questions to help you get started. It will inquire as to whom you are preparing this return for. You will see myself, my spouse/partner, and someone else. You should choose the Myself option. When you select myself, you will be prompted to provide your information in order to file your tax return.
