PSI-( social services) can I claim child as a dependent?

I am a person of sufficient interest (PSI) from social services, and am the acting guardian to a child. Can I claim them as my dependent ?( although I cannot qualify for childtax benefit) They pay a monthly support for the child.

No you are not able to claim a child as a dependent when you are given money to look after that child.
