TT said: a tax saving opportunity to claim my spouse's dividend income on my return to maximize my refund. Do all amounts on T5 qualify for this? Carrying charges too?

On a Joint return, I had entered all my spouse's T5 slips with 100% attribution to her. When summarizing TurboTax claimed a Tax Saving Opportunity by claiming all of my Spouse's Dividend income on my return to maximize my Claim on my spouse who has no employment income. The opportunity only speaks of Dividend Income, but T5's have more than Dividend income. Can I claim all my spouse's T5s on my return. This would indeed maximize our refund since her personal deduction would be larger and therefor more beneficial for the Joint filing. Can I also claim the carrying charges associated with these T5s?

Hi Ralph,

Yes, you can split the carrying charges along with the data on your T5.
