We became common law in February 2022 do we file as common law for 2022

Because you were not in a common-law relationship during the 2021 tax year, you should not file as common law on this year's tax return for the 2021 tax year. To be considered common-law, two individuals must live together in a conjugal relationship for a period of 12 months, or immediately if they have a child.

Please see this Canada Revenue Agency(CRA) link to find out more about your Marital Status.
