So we received a 1099-NEC form for royalties my son received as a college football player.  I am on the part where it says "Do one of these uncommon situations apply".  I am thinking that I need to check "This is not money earned as an employee or self-employed individual- it is from a sporadic activity or hobby" option.  He only received three payments for very low amounts.
