How do I claim my tuition fees in TurboTax?

by TurboTax20 Updated 1 month ago

The procedure for claiming tuition fees can vary, depending on the province you live in and the version of TurboTax you use.

Note: If you have tuition amounts in a different currency (such as USD), you'll follow different instructions to claim tuition for schools outside Canada.

Residents of New Brunswick can claim tuition fees and expenses using the NBS11 form. This is available directly in TurboTax.

Note: The New Brunswick tuition tax credit was eliminated in 2017 but reinstated for tax years 2019 and after. Tuition fees paid for 2017, 2018, and 2019 can be claimed on a 2019 tax return. Any unclaimed amounts can be carried forward.
