Getting started

I too have the same issue. I MUST file my taxes this week due to other constraints. When reaching out to Customer Support, the representative (knowing I needed to file this week) told me to try again in 10 days!!!!

Only when I shared that is an unacceptable response did she pass me through to a support representative to implement (a very much less than desirable) work-around that required me to back out my capital gains claim on the sale of shares and the  reimbursement of capital gains using  a carry-forward of a capital loss.

Basically, I need to intentionally misfile my taxes and deal with correcting this “MESS” after the fact because Intuit is no longer adequately supporting their product.
I have trusted Quicktax (now Turbotax) since it’s very first release, and have used it without exception for (now) over 20 years. This WAS a trusted product.

Last year I was caught up in the issue of the CD version having the incorrect application install launch executable file installed.  So this year, to remedy the problem they simply dropped the CD version as an option (not impressed).
I figure they can’t get things messed up 2 years in a row, and (reluctantly) purchased the downloadable version, only to run into this issue now.

From what was a stellar company, Intuit has certainly fell from grace in my books. This software is supposed to be there to simplify my life, and now all it has done for this taxation year has generated a lot of additional work I will need to do in the backend to manually process the carry-forward against my capital gains for this year. I am no expert, this is going to be challenging for me, which is why I use this software in the first place...

Dear Intuit, if you are not meeting my (your customer’s) needs, whose needs are you meeting?

Very disappointed indeed....
