Getting started
Usually the cost to prepare an individual's tax return is not a tax deduction. The cost of income tax preparation is only deductible in a few situations:
- As a business expense for business owners (form T2125 - under Legal, accounting, and other professional fees),
- As a rental expense for rental property owners (form T776 - under Legal, accounting, and other professional fees),
- or under other special circumstances listed in this bulletin http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tp/it99r5-consolid/it99r5-consolid-e.html
