Why am i being asked to pay to file my tax if i am supposedly using the free version? the same one i have used in the previous year and i did not pay anything.

TurboTax Free is a completely free product. According to the information above, you are currently using the Standard version of TurboTax which is not free. To prepare your return using TurboTax Free, choose the option for TurboTax Free from the product selector found here: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tt/2017-03-06-catalogue-online/b.jsp.
