if rental property had no rental income in 2024 due to damages and negligence from tenant of 5 years and her animals can I claim or carry over expenses?

what can you claim when rental property had no income?

Investors and rental owners

You can only claim rental expenses if you were renting out the property or if you were actively looking for a tenant.
