I'm an artisan who sells at conventions. Where would I enter costs involved as a vendor (and not only as a participant)? i.e. booth rental and badge costs

Investors and rental owners
Your booth can be claimed as an advertising expense, as that is what you are doing at a trade show. Or you could claim under Other with a description: Trade Show booth rental; either would work.
