Where should I put business expenses

 

Self-employed

To input your Business Expenses on TurboTax Online:

  1. Open your TurboTax return. Select the "Find" icon at the top of the page.
  2. In the search bar, type Business or Professional Activities and select Go.
  3. On this page, if you have already entered your business information, you will see your business listed. If not, you will need to Enter a New Business and input the required information for your business. If you see your business listed, select the "Edit" option.
  4. This will bring you to the Review Your Self-Employment Income and Expenses page. Select Business Expenses from the list.
  5. The following pages will ask you questions related to your business expenses. Answer the questions and press Continue after each page to save your work.

Log back into your TurboTax account and follow the steps below:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Click on Find (magnifying glass) at the top right corner
  3. Type in "Employment expense" and click Go 
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  5. Always click on Continue or Done at the bottom of the screen to save your information.
