Just spent last 3 hours trying to fix this problem. Found out that not only do you need to "blank out" all short-term rental data using the above steps for the one property you're getting the error on, you need to blank out all the short-term rental data for ALL of your rental properties, then on each rental summary screen, do not select the last check-box for non-compliant CCA etc.. Very frustrating.

My husband and I share the property rental income (which is not a short term rental property). When we tried to file the return via turbotax online, my file went through but not his. The same form776 error keeps popping up even though I follow the step you listed to remove the property on the "Non-compliant amount of expenses and CCA for short-term rentals" page.

I suggest first blanking out all data fields for the rental property details. Dont put zero, but blank the fields out. Save it, then go back to the property summary page where you enter the checkmarks. Make sure that last/bottom checkbox is not checked. Do this for each rental property, if more than one. Then go back and re-enter your data making sure not to put in any values (even zero) for any of the short-term rental fields. Then IF it asks you to enter non-compliant days/ compliant days, non-compliant CCA etc., just leave that all blank also, dont put zero anywhere.
Hope this helps.

I have the same issue and nothing I seem to do is fixing it! Even my accounting sister tried to help but could not figure it out... I think I'll have to try WealthSimple or something since this is not working and won't let me NetFile.
I get exactly the same pop-up error messages as you, redirecting me to the page with CCA non-compliant things.

Delete all your rentals. save your return, log out, log in again. Start again on your rental summary screen - do not select the last checkbox. Re-enter your revenue, expenses, etc., you can do your CCA calculation, but IF you get the T776 non-compliance screen, do not enter anything, not even the number of days your rental was compliant.

I agree they have a bug in their program! Just letting you know that I was able to solve this issue by:
1) Go into each rental property you have, blank out (dont enter zeros) all fields related to short-term rental amounts. Even if they appear blank, I suggest blanking them out again!
2) go to the rental summary screen and do not check the last/bottom checkbox.
3) page through your rental revenue/expense screens. If it brings you to that non-compliance screen, do not enter any values including do not enter zeros anywhere, just continue past that screen.
The above worked for me, but I had to do it to two rental properties - doing it just on the one that gave the error was not enough.
I think what should also work is if you delete (yes delete) all of your rental properties, and re-enter them again, making sure not to check that last check-box on the rental summary screen, and dont enter any values on the non-compliance screen (if it appears).

Thank you An613!!
I had the same problem. Thank you so much. It is not you, it is the programming.
Deleting the CCA section in the rental summary page worked for me. I also didn't go back to the summary page.
Hey Intuit. You have a bug here. It has something to do with entering a "0" CCA class automatically when an entry is made (or created automatically) in the CCA section.
Cheers,
Datronis
