Form T2125, the Statement of Business or Professional Activities, is a Canadian tax document used by self-employed individuals to report business and professional income and expenses. T2125 Tax Form: Declare Income and Expenses from a Business or Profession.

 

In TurboTax Canada Online, the T2125 (Statement of Business or Professional Activities) is entered through the Self-Employment interview section. Note that you must use TurboTax Self-Employed or Premium (2025 versions) to access this form. 

 

  1. Navigate to Income: Select the Income tab from the left-hand menu and choose Self-Employment.
  2. Add Your Business: Click Yes when asked if you had self-employment income to start a new business profile.

 

In the TurboTax Canada 2025 Desktop (CD/Download) version, you can enter Form T2125 using either the guided EasyStep interview or the direct Forms mode. 

 

  1. Open your tax return and ensure you are in EasyStep mode.
  2. Click on the Income tab in the top or side menu.
  3. Select Self-Employment and then check the box for Self-Employment Profile.
  4. Answer "yes" to "Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?"
  5. Follow the prompts to enter your business name, industry code (NAICS), and gross income.
  6. The software will then lead you through sections to enter expenses, such as home office or vehicle costs, which it will automatically use to populate the T2125. 

Method 2: Using Forms Mode (Direct Entry)

If you prefer to see the actual CRA form while you type, use this method.
