Do I claim CCA for my principal residence if it also as a rental component?

I bought a duplex in 2016.  I live in one portion and rent the other.  Do I set up an addition for CCA for the house?

Hi

You can, but it is not recommended.  If you claim CCA on any part of your personal residence, that portion will be subject to capital gains when you go to sell it.

Hi.  My house is part rental.  Do I not have to claim capital gains when I sell it?  I've done renovations and I was told I can't claim the cost until I sell the house.  Will I still be able to claim it if I don't claim capital gains?
