Can I claim the CPP & OAS of the deceased person on the Estate Return? These benefits were received after but on the same month of DOD of deceased person.
I am just past the year of DOD of the deceased person so I cannot do an optional right or things return.

Seniors and students
Sorry for your loss. As per our TurboTax article: Deceased Returns: The Final Return
Income reported on the final return includes:
- Employment income and casual jobs earned up to the DOD.
- OAS and CPP/QPP benefits received prior and up to the DOD. Any income received after the DOD is to be reported on the Right or Things Return (optional return). Keep in mind the CPP or the QPP death benefit is never reported on the final return; instead, report it on the T3 estate return.
You may wish to contact the Canada Revenue Agency for further clarification as the indication here says to do the Right or Things Return. Please call 1-800-959-8281.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
