Tuition Credits for new PR

Hi,

I am helping my fiancé who recently became a permanent resident of Canada navigate the use of potential tuition credits. She attended university in BC between 2009-2011 on a student visa and then returned to her home until 2021 where she worked in NS every year under a work visa until 2024 when she became a PR.

1) is she eligible to claim the credit for 2021 tax year forward?

2) obviously this a long time ago and we aren’t gonna be surprised if the university cannot provide any documentation or if her family can’t dig it up in her home country. Any tips on what recourse we have if we aren’t able to find any forms she may have been provided at the time. Is any proof of payment or otherwise valid to obtain the credit? Any tips on how to approach the universities to obtain the info?

thanks for any help!
