Nevermind. After further searching I discovered you can only claim US donations if you have US income. Sorry I didn't search harder. I kept getting "you don't have permission to view this" on the posts I was clicking on. I don't have US income so I won't be claiming that $100, ever, which is fine. I wouldn't have made the donation if I'd known it was a US only donation and didn't have a Canadian counterpart for Canadian donators.
