Reporting RRSP contribution with employer matching

Hi,

I have been with my current employer since 2024, but only opened a group RRSP in Feb 2025. I made contributions into the group RRSP before March 2025. My employer provides matching contributions to my group RRSP as well

The financial institution providing the group RRSP is sunlife which provided me with an RRSP statement covering the period Jan-Feb 2025. The contribution amount mentioned in the statement includes my contribution (deductions from my pay cheque + a lump sum I made from my bank account) in addition to my employer matching contribution

Now, in the online form of turbotax, for the "RRSP Contribution" section, under the "Contribution amount to your own RRSPs", should I include the contribution amount reported in sunlife statement as a whole (my contribution + my employer's matching contribution) or shall I include my contribution only without my employer's matching?

Thanks

Filing

Contributions made to an RRSP that are deductible on your tax return have to be accompanied by an RRSP slip. Sounds like you have a Group Pension plan with your employer and SunLife which is not deductible on your tax return, as the contributions are taken off your paycheck before tax deductions.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax
