Deceased principal residence
My parents jointly owned a condo as their principal residence. My father passed away in 2022 only 7 months after they took possession. After his death, the title is in my mother's name only. Did I need to declare that he had disposed of his principal residence upon his death? Will the fact that he only lived 7 months at that address be an issue for claiming it as a principal residence on his final return, since he would have claimed the sale of his previous principal residence on his 2021 return?
