Troubleshooting

Norm32, That is exactly the same issue I have.  Negative Capital gain doesn't allow box 68140 to populate.  That said, based on CRA's notes that might be the way it's supposed to work.

Line 1 minus line 13 (if negative, enter "0")
If the total is "0", do not complete lines 15 to 19, and enter "0" on line 20. If the total includes an amount from a T3 slip, complete lines 15 to 19 below. Otherwise, enter "0" on line 19.

The two sentences seem to contradict each other.

In looking in prior year version of Turbotax, the capital gain from T3 was still showing up on line 68140 of the T936 even if we had negative capital gain on line 1 of Chart A.  Turbotax had an update on program this morning but this did not fix the problem.  Same issue, capital gain from T3 not showing on line 68140

Troubleshooting

Booooo

Norm32, unfortunately I found the same result that you mentioned.  I put information in my 2023 software to make line 1 a negative number, had my gains listed in line 10 but line 14 was zero.  As  you said, even with today's update the 2024 software still leaves line 10 as zero when line 1 is negative.  :(

Troubleshooting

I tried the Update as well this morning.  I then went and re-entered the T3 slips.  This still did not populate line 68140 on the T936 form.   Please resolve this issue regardless if it is a CRA or TurboTax problem.  We need some timeframe as to when this will be resolved.

Troubleshooting

Agreed we need this resolved through an automated or acceptable approved workaround. Holding up our returns.

Troubleshooting

I also got SAME PROBLE CODE 95365 . Tech support from TurboTax tax is now involved. The said they are working in a solution. Somehow do not insist to send your Incom tax via Netfile until the case is resolved otherwise CRA will lock your account.

Please inform us the clients of turbo tax once the issue is resolved. THANKS

Troubleshooting

It's now March 27 and I'm still getting the same error after being locked out of CRA netfile (after moving the amount from box 52 and adding to box 53 - which didn't work).  When will this be fixed?  I need to netfile because I'm expecting a large refund.

Troubleshooting

Please escalate the resolution of this.  We have been told too much incorrect  information from TurboTax staff.  Including a promised resolution date of March 25th.  It is now March 27th.

Additionally, I do not wish to use any of these fudged solutions posted on this board.  I need  a real solution now.

Troubleshooting

If it is a "known error on CRAs end", why does CRA staff say it is TurboTax issue?

Troubleshooting

@Blue_Knight Try this workaround: enter 100% ownership at the top and then half of all values into boxes for each person. (I also only entered capital gains in box 53, using the same value as line 21, half the total, instead of dividing the time periods.).

Then the values for line 68140 on T936 were correct and agreed with Schedule 3 line 17600, and try to file.

We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. We appreciate your patience.
