I ended up filing my taxes yesterday because I was tired of waiting. While there was no indication my refund would change when filling out the form in turbo tax, after I filed I got a message from the CRA when they issued the express notice of assessment saying they reduced my 2024 income by the amount of the lump sum and taxed it as if I got it in previous years. It did end up benefitting me as my refund was higher than I expected by several hundred dollars. So the t1198 form worked and the CRA did receive and assess it, so I hope that helps everyone! I was using turbo tax online version. I saw some comments that people had to restart their returns because they started them when the form glitch was ongoing and even though the form was fixed it didn't work because they had started the return before the fix, but that wasn't my experience. 

I’m not sure but I think if we submit the form from the board it should be okay? My understanding is the CRA has also allowed this for the first time so it’s new as well.

I’m still waiting for some forms from my spouse but I’ve read on other threads that people were able to attach documents at the end. I haven’t gotten there yet though. 

I’ve also seen people submitting the form through their CRA account, not through turbotax. 

The form didn't upload with my return so I couldn't see it once I netfiled. But the CRA message confirm receipt came shortly after. I also assume if something doesn't work you can submit documents through your CRA My Account if the CRA asks to see it.

Was there an option to try and upload the form or no? 

My board issued a letter instead of the form so I needed to input the amounts on the letter into the form on turbo tax. Would have been way easier if the board had issued a form.

On turbo tax? No it was a fillable form, I typed in the amounts on the letter given to me by the school board.

Should we see the T1988 form in our final Return after filing?  Or does the government receive it separately?
