I am trying to use Turbotax Free version but it won't let me continue without choosing a payment option of $21, $75, or $100.

Do It Yourself Free Covers simple tax situations only

If you're using the  Do it Yourself (online) version, TurboTax has optimized its editions since 2021 to ensure that our customers have access to the forms they need to make the most of every individual's tax situation, while also adhering to the accuracy guarantee. 

Since certain claims/expenses were transferred to the appropriate edition. TurboTax is better able to guide our customers through the filing process, ensuring that no credits or deductions are missed. If the claim/expense is not covered by your current edition, you will be automatically prompted to upgrade to the appropriate one.
