I'm filing a tax return separate from my husband's. What if I don't have his information?

You must report the name, social insurance number, and net income (or the amount the net income would be if he/she filed a return) of your spouse or common-law partner on page 1 of your tax return. The spouse's net income affects some tax credits, including the spousal amount tax credit.

You can always edit the data and add the estimated amount for the time being to skip this step once you have the correct information.
