I'm incorporated. My spouse works for me full time. With the new income splitting rules, can I pay him only dividends (i.e. no salary) without negative tax implications?

Hello,

We are unable to determine weather this specific Income Splitting rule applies to your situation as we are not fiscal experts and don't know enough about the corporation to give this type of recommendation.  I would suggest contacting the CRA tax tip line at 1-800-267-6999 to determine if you qualify for this rule.  That being said when you enter the dividend the software will most likely still calculate taxes on dividends paid, however we would be able to force or override the system to remove the taxes calculated.
