Open TurboTax
Since certain claims/expenses were transferred to the appropriate edition. TurboTax is better able to guide our customers through the filing process, ensuring that no credits or deductions are missed. If the claim/expense is not covered by your current edition, you will be automatically prompted to upgrade to the appropriate one.
Side gig income is considered self-employment income because it is earned outside a traditional employer-employee relationship, where you act as an independent contractor or sole proprietor with an expectation of profit. Even though it's a small amount, you still need to report it. The deluxe version doesn't have forms that are required for self-employed individuals. That is the reason you have to upgrade to a self-employed version.
Hope this helps!
