Open TurboTax
The amount from Box 105 goes to Line 13010, but if you are a full-time student, the taxable amount is technically $0.
When you enter your T4A in TurboTax, Box 105 is not just one simple box; it usually has a dropdown menu with multiple options.
Ensure you selected the option that says "Scholarships, bursaries, etc. (Full-time)."
If you accidentally chose "Part-time" or "Other," TurboTax will include that money in your total income because it assumes you don't qualify for the full exemption.
Go to the T2202 (Tuition and Enrolment Certificate) section. Check Column C (number of months of full-time study).
If this is 0 (or if you haven't filled out the T2202 yet), TurboTax has no "proof" to give you the exemption, so it defaults to making the bursary taxable.
In the student profile section of TurboTax, there is often a checkbox asking if you were a full-time student in 2025.
Make sure this is checked "yes."
Hope this helps!
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Thank you very much for the detail reply. I have alreday figured out as there are 8 boxes of 105. By default the amount appeared in the Box 105 of "Other scholarships, grants, awards etc: taxable not eligible for $500 exemption reported as Other Income" when I autofilled the T4A from CRA account. Now I put 0 and moved the bursaries amount in the fist box "Full-time scholarship: also have T2202 with months in Box 25" since making this change the issue has been resolved. Thanks for your help
@tanweer108 Glad to hear that, Thanks for the update!
