Turbotax will not allow me to start a return unless I agree to pay more ?

That is typical.  Last year it cost me $25 plus tax for each return so a family of four was $100 and the 2 children didn’t have income or abnormal deductions.

unfortunately with the AI moderators you can’t find out if the price will go up this year.

I finally tried to start a new return and then the software worked. I am very disappointed in Turbotax. I will consider a different software next year.

@i-c-robson If you are using the online version, since 2021, TurboTax has optimized its editions to ensure that our customers are getting access to the forms needed to make the most out of every individual's tax need, to make the most out of every individual's tax situation, and to respect his accuracy guarantee.  

Certain claims/expenses were transferred to the appropriate edition. TurboTax is better able to guide our customers through the filing process, ensuring that no credits or deductions are missed. If the claim/expense is not covered by your current edition, you will be automatically prompted to upgrade to the appropriate one.
