Your spouse/partner's net income for the year is required to properly calculate your tax return

First and for most, the Premier 2024, is not user friendly it was with other previous year programs. I have indicated that i would like to file our returns as married person. I enter the information of my wife including her income by entering the T4's. I take me to the end and then bring up an error about the spouse income which is required. No where is it giving me the option to enter the spouse income same way it allowed me to enter the wife's income. I remember last year 2023, after entering wife information and income the next step was to enter the spouse information and income but this Premier 2024 does not give you that option.

Once you click the error and indicate that your spouse income is not zero it does not allow you to go further once you click continue it just bring you back to the error again, in that case you do not have any way to fix the error.

Indeed you had created a joint return, the question would not be asked.

If you did do a joint return, entered the spouse's T4 and answered right at the start of creating the return 'Which of these applied to you in 2024?'  (If you're filing with a spouse/partner, answer for them as well.)Please send us a screen shot of the error you are getting at the filing stage.

Who are you preparing this return for? Did you choose 'Myself' or  'My spouse/partner and me'

Thanks for choosing TurboTax.
