According to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you may expense your office rent as long as it's under your respective business. That is, a Sole Proprietorship or Partnership. As a rule of thumb, you can expense anything as long as it is used by your business to produce revenues. Any portion that is used for personal matters is not allowed to be recorded as an expense.
